Edita from 1985 in Naples singing Amina's Ah, non giunge from Bellini's La Sonnambula. I believe this is from a concert where scenes were sung at opera houses all over Europe and broadcast live. Lively tempo and she sings the WORD 'd'amor' on the final HIGH F! not just 'ah'!

I love the way Gruberova flirts - not only with the words but with the notes themself - she caresses them amazingly. Brava!

My favourite Lucia since I was fortunate to have seen her in The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, in 1988. What a n incredibly awesome performance that was in London, that night. Wow!! She left us mesmerised and won us over forever. I shall miss her following her sad and tragic death last year. 😭So sad.😔 May you rest in everlasting light Edita. Another great voice lost to humankind forever. Thankfully, your amazing recordings will be there for us and for posterity; to savour, enjoy and treasure your beautiful gift of a voice in a lifetime. 👍😢👋❤ You'll be sorely missed. RIP. 🙏
